CATERPILLAR early pioneer in the supply chain of new engine as well as rehabilitation of new engine from the 90s of the last century for Viet Nam rail with the total number of Đoi Moi project is 80 units CAT 3512B engines.

DONGFENGHONG project is 30 units CAT 3508B engine. TY7 project is 87 units CAT 3406C. D9E – GE Locomotive is 22 unit CAT D398 and 3512B engines bringing the total number of engines are 219 in September 2015.
